World Diabetes Day : 285 million people with diabetes!

World Diabetes Day is today

Today November 14, is declared as World Diabetes Day. An official United Nation's World Health Day, World Diabetes Day marks the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who, along with Dr. Charles Best, co-discovered insulin in 1921. Why we have to aware about diabetes? Diabetes is quite common in our life, but many people don’t really bother about amount of sugar they had in a day.

Diabetes is really scary if you know the fact that currently 285 million of people around the world now facing the problem. To make it worse, 2/3 of diabetes epidemic died of heart attack.

We should be more careful with the amount of sugar taken in a day and eating habits. Be aware that diabetes are killing us slowly. Today, not only elderly are having diabetes. In some cases, younger age is also having diabetes, which normally related to obesity.

Stress and sleep

What is the connection between stress and sleep? Did you know that most of the successful person in the world sleep or take a nap to relax and 'recharge' their energy. Sleep is good for as one of the stress solutions. When someone don't have enough sleep, the performance will decrease and they will do something unhealthy to reduce the stress like drinking coffee and smoking cigarette, which is totally worsen the situation.

I've gone through the situation when I forced myself to work overnight wasted my time because I can't give 100% performance. Since I read a book about '50 successful person in the world', I tried sleep as natural stress relief, and it works. The next day (or hour) when I back to work, I can have more energy and my performance is better. SO I've prove myself that sleep is good for
stress reduction.

There are lots more of method for managing stress but here I'd like to share 1 of them on how to relieve stress. If you haven't try sleep as a stress meditation, why don't you try it today for relaxation stress. Stress relief means you keep your self from high blood pressure and hot temper. If you are stress now, why don't get a sleep and you can reducing stress in you.

Convulsion symptoms on our newborn baby

DAY 1 : tubes and wires to monitor the baby

Our baby was born on October 29, 2009 at 8.18am. I wasn't expecting he delivered earlier than I thought. The reason is, on 7.00 am, the opening just 5cm, but suddenly the progress wasvery fast. Unfortunately, my wife has already out of energy when she try to do the last push, end up baby come out with loud breathing sound.

The doctor made quick decision to send him right away to the nursery (baby ward). I followed to the ward, waiting and watch from outside. The team tried their best to save the baby life. I'm waiting and see how they put more electronic devices and tube to help the baby breath.

The ward mostly filled with premature birth baby. My boy born after 39 weeks, which mature enough for birth. The problem occured because of lack of oxygen, which has implication on his brain, kidneys and lungs. The lack of oxygen caused him convulsions. Based on convulsion definition, "body muscles contract and relax rapidly and repeatedly, resulting in an uncontrolled shaking of the body" - the baby had the symptoms. Besides, the doctor explained to me about it.

The doctors says, probably the baby will be monitored until he is 2. Convulsions in children is another chapter that I have to study after this.
DAY 4 : He gives good responds and feedback, oxygen tube removed.

DAY 5 : He survives the hard day.. No wires, only 1 tube left to supply extra fluids
